In February of 1986, Janice Clarbour married Daniel Fitzgivens in Norman, OK, where her family had moved from Deerfield. They had one daughter, Ja'Mae (a combination of Janice and Mae, her middle name).

Dan preceded Janice in death by two years. Of the couple, his obituary stated, "They had a strong bond and one was rarely seen without the other."
