School Story:
I came to Deerfield High School from living on a sailboat sailing down the coast of Mexico with my parents in 1969. I lived with my aunt and uncle (the parents of Marcia, Ellen and Sue Lauzon - all alumni of Deerfield) from June 1969 to Sept 1971. It was difficult making friends as I was extremely shy and by the Junior year of high school most people already belonged to their groups. I did, however, make a few good friends, most notably Leslie Hartman, Debi Dunn and Kathy Staats, and from the class of 1970 Nancy Flanagan. Of course, I was also friends with my cousin, Sue, who was a year ahead of me in high school when I arrived. Most of the people I was friends with, other than Debi and Kathy, were the people I knew at the Deerfield Presbyterian Church where I was involved in the youth group and youth choir. My boyfriend during my high school years was Dan Robinson (Deerfield grad 1969) which did not help me in making friends at all since he was in college by the time we started dating. (We met in the summer of 1969)
